Word has trickled in that Aliquippa hoops star and New Mexico State recruit Herb Pope was shot last night and is in a Pittsburgh hospital. Privacy laws are preventing much information from being leaked in the incident. But Aliquippa Police Chief Ralph Pallante said Pope was "shot twice in the lower abdomen, once in the left lower arm and once in the thigh."
There are plenty of details not yet released, and plenty of questions awaiting to be answered. The P-G reports that detectives will speak with Pope on Sunday or Monday, after his surgery to possibly recover bullet fragments.
